A disaster a challenge to us all!
While in several countries, men and the women were struck and continue to be, by wars, terrorist acts, and natural disasters, the entire human race, saw the very worst of natural disasters on 26 December 2004. The Tsunami disaster struck countries which border the Indian Ocean: more than 280.000 lost their lives, Towns and cities destroyed, millions of people displaced, properties and infrastructures seriously damaged...

WOMEN WALK, WAY OF HOPE!
The General Assembly of WMCW held in May 2004, reaffirmed the commitment of the movements to actively continue their involvement in the Women world Walk. The WMCW fully supports the theme of Walk: "Against poverty and for the sharing of the wealth, against violence to women and for the respect of their physical and mental integrity".

More than one billion human beings live with less than one American dollar per day, 2,7 billion other people fights to survive with less than two dollars per day. More than 880 million people, among whom 300 million children, go hungry to bed each day. Each year, more than six million children die of curable or avoidable diseases such as malaria, diarrhea or pneumonia.
