Message of the WMCW for 8 March 2008
The ability of Women to Eradicate Violence and Poverty
The neo-liberal politicians have seen that the globalization of the market place as lifeline for the sale of their products, and to ensure the slow progress of human rights. Profit has dominated the advancement of human rights. Unfortunately, some societies were able to function in an autonomous way are now disposed because they have to sell their cultures which no longer feed them and because they have to buy the products that they themselves used to make in the past.
The Culture of Domination
What are the consequences of this culture of domination? This culture has produced since the birth of humanity, wars, blind nationalism the division of North-South, capitalism, undignified work, economic migration, destruction of the environment, hunger, health services that fail millions of people, violence and exploitation of women and children, the exclusion of half of humanity…This culture of masculine domination (in economics and politics as well as gender) is to be found in part in the law of eh jungle or the law of the survival of the fittest i.e. without justice. This culture and practice of exclusion of women has deprived humanity of half of its potential for development.

What is, there the future of the XXI century?
As men and women have been created free and equal, the World Movement of Christian Workers (WMCW) thinks that the XXI century has a real need of the ability of women to get out of an impasse. How can a repetition of the stupidity of previous centuries be avoided? What must States do so that women can increase their ability to take their place in civil, political, economic and ecclesial society? It is of course necessary to ensure that women have a legal framework for making a free choice for their adult life, children, marriage, protection against sexual exploitation and human trafficking…Such s in their private, community and public life, such as work; but moreover Governments and our member movements should set up places of education where young women and adult women can express themselves and have opportunities for leadership, and take responsibility for the needs of the community and its political direction. Thus, women would be able to find themselves having an equal dignity in the active population.
