A Review of Life on the Coronavirus-2
Coronavirus …. Our Health Revealed!
SEE:
- In your opinion has the health service (been well prepared for care to be given) has health been at top of the major events in our country?
- What has worked well?
- What’s been missing? Or not working well?
- Who have been the principal victims of any failing?
- Have we personally suffered as a result of these failings?
JUDGE:
- In our opinion, what are the causes of these failings in the health system?
- What are the specific consequences of them for the country and working people?
- What is a GOOD health system? And, who should be in charge of it and manage it?
- Bring a short text, song or video etc, (choose something that reveals amongst the numerous messages circulating that speaks specifically of health and that we can share)!
- Why have you chosen this text/song etc? What is it that you find important?
- Let’s read the texts below:
Acts of the Apostles
3 • 1 Once when Peter and John were going up to the Temple at three in the afternoon, the hour for prayer, 2 a man crippled from birth was being carried in. Every day they would bring him and put him at the temple gate called “Beautiful”; there he begged from those who entered the Temple.
3 When he saw Peter and John on their way into the Temple, he asked for alms. 4 Then Peter with John at his side looked straight at him and said, “Look at us.” 5 So he looked at them, expecting to receive something from them. 6 But Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I have I give you: In the name of Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, walk!”
7Then he took the beggar by his right hand and helped him up. At once his feet and ankles became firm, 8 and jumping up he stood on his feet and began to walk. And he went with them into the Temple walking and leaping and praising God.
9 All the people saw him walking and praising God; 10 they recognized him as the one who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple, and they were all astonished and amazed at what had happened to him.
From the words of Pope Francis:
“We are a society which has forgotten the experience of crying, of “to suffer with”. The Globalization of indifference has taken away from us the capacity to cry. To live fully our baptism means equally that we do not become used to degradation and misery that we meet when we walk down the streets of our towns and country.”
What links do we make with our concerns for good health and with our Esponsibility in this area?
What is our WORD OF FAITH in this context here? Let’s formulate a prayer (in writing or orally) that we can share together.
ACT:
- What am I going to do PERSONALLY to look after my personal health better, in order to bring some balance in my life?
- What are we going to decide to do IN THE GROUP (MCW) (WMCW) to protect the health of those of family around the most vulnerable around us?
- What collective declaration (national or international) could the movement affirm about SOCIAL PROTECTION and about HEALTH?
